Joetsu Sogo Technical High School’s men’s volleyball club participated in the 75th Japan Volleyball High School Championship, commonly known as “Harutaka Volleyball,” which began on Wednesday, April 4, as the prefecture’s representative. In their first match, they faced Shohei High School, representing Saitama Prefecture, and it was a close match that went all the way to the third set.
The tournament was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, and a total of 104 men’s and women’s teams took part. Kazusa men’s volleyball club is participating in the 18th for the first time in 6 years.
The match is a 3 set match and the winner is the one who wins 2 sets.
Start the first set. Kazusa, at the front of the team in the engineer outfit, gave Shohei the lead and was struggling to get a good start. Even in the middle stages, it was difficult to keep up with Shohei, who was good at receiving.
However, it was Captain Ota’s intense power serve that shone. This is the ideal form to destroy the opponent and decide with Matsuki’s ace. Kobe spikes are added to this and hold up.
In the final stages of the match, I managed to get the juice, but the opponent spiked and unfortunately I lost the first set 27-29.
Backless Kazusa showed his tenacity in the second set. From the start, Matsuki and Kobe were in the lead. The opponents also attacked with high speed attacks, but in the end, Ota scored to make it 25 to 23, bringing the set count to 1 to 1 and returning the game to the beginning.
In the 3rd set, both teams continued to clash with each other with all their might. Shohei tortures Kazusa with decisive quick attacks and accurate blocks.
On the other hand, Kazusa scored three points in a row from Matsuki, a power serve from Ota, and a wide attack on the move from Shimotori.
However, he could not hold the back of Shohei, who surpassed him in overall strength, and after a close match, he fell 23-25 and lost with a set count of 1-2.
