Star batsman Virat Kohli was booed by fans after he was dismissed for just 14 runs on the second day of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia on Thursday. Kohli was dismissed by Steve Smith with a stunning catch at slip on Mitchell Starc’s surprise bouncer.
Twitter fans were disappointed to see a big player like Virat Kohli fall at a crucial stage of the game. Some trolled him and others slammed the star. Fans joked that Kohli was not a big wicket.
Kohli’s body language after his dismissal also irked critics. The video of Kohli laughing and talking to Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan after coming to the dressing room went viral.
In the IPL, RCB’s losses and loss of wickets had Kohli in deep despair. But Kohli is dejected despite a poor first innings performance for India, who are dreaming of their first ICC trophy since 2013. Fans are criticizing the Indian team for not showing even a quarter of the sincerity shown to the teams in the IPL.
