Kollam: The mother, who was sitting in the back seat while riding her bike with her son, fell on the road and died. The accident took place on Puthur-Chirankavu road yesterday morning. The deceased has been identified as Geethakumariamma, 52, of Cherupoyka, Kottarakkara.

Geethakumariamma is a worker in a cashew factory in Paruthumpara. The umbrella was unfurled when it rained while going to work with his son Vishnu. This time the van passed in the opposite direction. The umbrella tilted back in the wind and Geethakumariamma lost control and fell on the road.

The mother was rushed to the hospital in a car but could not be rescued.
