More than 1 million people are expected to visit Busan as it will be held for the first time in three years due to Corona 19.

There are already places that charge 100,000 won for a cup of coffee and over 1.6 million won for a night’s accommodation.

The Busan Fireworks Festival, which was postponed after the corona, will be held again on the 17th for the first time in three years.

About two weeks ago, banners were hung everywhere in Gwangalli, the venue of the event, saying they were accepting orders.

“Accommodation and shops in front of Traeth Gwangalli are asking for prices that are dozens of times higher than normal, claiming that it is a great place for fireworks festivals.”

The price for one hour is charged in order of seats with a good view of the firework festival.

“Outside (per head) 120,000 are won, and inside 100,000 are won.”

Hotels with a price of 100,000 to 600,000 won jumped, and there were accommodations that cost more than 1.6 million won per night.

It was also confirmed that, before a decision was made on whether to hold a fireworks festival, a person had applied to pay an additional 600,000 won or a refund for a room booked from 200,000 won, or to cancel it.

“I wondered if this kind of forced cancellation was openly harassing customers. To what extent would they be ripped off by tourists from other regions or foreign countries…”

The district office is cracking down on companies who demand additional fees from existing reservations or who unilaterally notify of cancellation of orders, but only reiterates that there is no basis for going to the tackling organizations that charge too much.

“As for the part where the room rate is raised, that’s not something we can cut down.”

Last October, when a BTS concert was held in hopes of hosting the Busan Expo, a controversy arose over overcharging.

Tourists have to bear the outrageous price this time again because of the brave traders and the local governments who leave their hands behind.
