Heavy rain will continue in the state for two more days; Yellow warning in seven areas

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rain is likely for two more days in the state. The Meteorological Center has informed that there will be heavy rain in remote areas. A yellow alert has been declared in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.

Cyclone Mandus, which made landfall in Tamil Nadu, has weakened into a cyclonic vortex, causing the rains. The cyclonic circulation is likely to enter the southeast Arabian Sea through the north Kerala-Karnataka coast and intensify into a low pressure by December 13 and move away from the Indian coast.

There is also a warning not to fish on the coasts of Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep till December 13. Strong winds and rough weather are expected along the coasts of Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep till December 13 with a speed of 40-45 km/hour and occasional gusts of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
