Heung-min Son transfers to teammate Bergwein Ajax… ransom of 40.5 billion won

Steven Bergwein (25, The Netherlands), who was a teammate and position competitor of Heung-Min Son (30), left Tottenham Hotspur, an English professional football team, and transferred to the Dutch ‘myeongga’ Ajax.

The Guardian reported on the 5th (local time) that “Ajax has agreed to pay Tottenham 30 million euros (about 40.5 billion won) as a transfer fee for Bergwein.”

He added that the transfer process would be complete if Bergwein passed the medical test.

Bergwein is a youth player from PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands), and has been in the first team since 2015.

In the 2018-2019 season, he scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 33 matches for the Eredivisie in the Dutch First Division.

Based on these performances, he played for Tottenham in 2020, and he was expected to join the club early on, but he only scored one goal in 31 games in the 2020-2021 season, showing that he was being pushed back from the main competition.

“I didn’t play much at Tottenham,” Bergwein told Dutch media in May. “Every player wants a chance.

We will continue to focus on training and see what happens in the transfer window this summer.”

On the 4th, Son Heung-min mentioned Bergwein’s name in a media interview held at the Adidas Brand Center near Hongik University Station and expressed his gratitude.

Heung-Min Son, who looked back at the match against Norwich City in the 38th round, who confirmed his position as the top scorer in the EPL for the 2021-2022 season at the time, said, “Bergwein came in (as a substitute) and said, ‘I’ll let you score one more goal’.” “Position competitor It must not have been easy for me to say that, but I was really grateful.”
