Son Heung-min, who scored 143 goals for Tottenham (England), expressed his desire to further increase the club’s career scoring position.

In an interview with the British Daily Evening Standard on the 17th (local time), Son Heung-min said, “I believe I can continue to play for a few more years. I will continue to score more goals. I want to go up,” he said.

“It has been a great honor to have played for this club over the last few years. Of course, I’m not just focused on scoring. I just want to help the team.”

Son Heung-min, who built a giant tower of his hundredth goal in the English professional football Premier League (EPL) in the last 30th round against Brighton, started scoring in the 31st round against Bournemouth.

Son Heung-min, who scored in two consecutive games for the first time this season, scored his 143rd goal (365 games) in about 8 years wearing the Tottenham uniform in 2015.

He scored 101 goals in the league and added 42 goals in various official matches such as the UEFA Champions League (UCL) and the FA Cup.

In the team’s total scoring position, he moved up one notch to joint 6th (143 goals, 363 games) with Germaine Defoe, the former England national striker.

Son Heung-min said, “It is a great honor to be compared to Defoe. Defoe is one of the legends of Tottenham and has scored many goals here. I am very proud of Defoe’s scoring record.”

Son Heung-min’s ‘next goal’ is the 159 goals (378 games) of Cliff Jones (5th), a Welsh striker who played an active role in the 1960s.

Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer is Son Heung-min’s ‘best friend’, Harry Kane. Kane played 428 official games and scored 273 goals.

Jimmy Greaves, top scorer of the 1950s and 1960s, followed with 266 goals (379 games), followed by Bobby Smith (208 goals, 317 games) and Martin Cheevers (174 goals, 367 games) in 3rd and 4th place.

The Tottenham club also congratulated Son Heung-min on its homepage for being 6th in the scoring positions.

The club said, “Sonny (nickname Son Heung-min) stood shoulder to shoulder with Defoe in the scoring positions,” and “the next target in Sonny’s eyes will be Jones, who won twice.”
