Malappuram: Police seized 3.9 kg of gold from two passengers at Karipur airport. The air intelligence unit seized the gold from Sharif, a resident of Pondikad, Malappuram and Shihab, a resident of Thavanur, on a flight from Jeddah.
The two tried to smuggle the gold by hiding it inside the handle of a trolley bag. The seized gold is estimated to be worth around Rs 2 crore in the market, officials said.
