Honda F1 Masashi Yamamoto signs contract with Red Bull Powertrains to establish new company[F1-Gate .com]

Masashi Yamamoto, who was the managing director of Honda F1, left Honda at the end of January and established a consultant company. It has been revealed that they have signed a contract to support Red Bull Powertrains.

Honda withdrew from F1, but the work done at Honda R & D was transferred to another company, HRC (Honda Racing). Production, assembly, maintenance and support of F1 engines will continue after 2022, and the system is expected to continue until 2025.

Masashi Yamamoto, who was the director of the motor sports department at Honda and has been the managing director of Honda F1 since 2019 when Honda and Red Bull started the partnership, will leave Honda at the end of this month and establish a consulting company.

The company will serve as a consultant for Red Bull and Honda, and immediately signed a contract with Red Bull Powertrains. Undertaken work at the request of Red Bull F1 team representative Christian Horner and motorsports adviser Helmut Marko.

At one point, Masashi Yamamoto was rumored to be transferred to Red Bull Powertrains, but it seems that he will be seconded as a “member” of Red Bull Powertrains.

Honda has agreed with Red Bull to continue its training program. The details of the work have not been revealed, but it seems that it will play a role of connecting Honda and Red Bull by taking advantage of the experience in F1 so far after putting down the sign called Honda.
