Kanhangad: Four people have been arrested for allegedly trapping a trader in a honey trap after marrying a woman in the name of his daughter. Sajida, 30, of Nayanmarmoola, Kasargod, NA Ummer, 41, of Aramanganam, his wife Fatima, 35, and Iqbal, a native of Pariyaram, were arrested on a complaint by Abdul Sattar, a native of Kochi Kadavanthra. The scam team brought Abdul Sattar to Kanhangad after arranging marriage through a broker. On August 2, the defendants plotted to marry Sajida to Abdul Sattar. Sattar was introduced as Sajida, the daughter of Umar and Fatima. After the ‘marriage’, the couple was given a rented apartment in Kovalpally to stay. According to Sattar’s complaint, the video was recorded after a secret camera was installed in the couple’s room and he threatened to publish it.

The complaint was lodged with the police after he continued to demand money and gold. Sajida was earlier arrested in a honeytrap case in Kasargod and Kannur districts.
