Thousands of Hong Kong protesters against the extradition bill (extradition law) occupied Hong Kong International Airport on the afternoon of the 12th.

According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) Hong Kong and Myungbo, on the afternoon of the afternoon, protesters gathered in the airport terminal and staged a sit-in demonstration, which halted all departure procedures and flight operations. There is also serious congestion on roads near the airport.

In a statement, the airport authorities said, “The check-in service for the outbound flight has been completely suspended.

Protesters against the extradition law staged a protest at Hong Kong International Airport for three consecutive days from the 9th to the 11th.

This demonstration was not originally planned. However, during a protest in Tsim Sha Tsui the day before, protests intensified when it was announced that a protester had been hit by a ‘bean bag gun’ fired by the police and was at risk of blindness in her right eye.

The beanbag gun is an anti-riot device that has low lethality but can cause bruising with a pocket bullet containing particles.
