Horizon Forbidden West, introduced by Guerrilla Games, has been constantly receiving updates since its release.
The latest patch 1.17 contains content that supports VRR in full-scale games, which PS5 started supporting in earnest this spring.
In this patch 1.17, a new balanced graphics mode that supports 40 frames fixed only for displays that support VRR is also added.
In addition, as the variable refresh rate is supported in the existing performance mode, HFR and high refresh rate are also supported. The official patch notes state that VRR will improve dynamic resolution scaling at 60Hz, while VRR and HFR will target refresh rates between 60Hz and 120Hz.
In addition, various crash issues, main quest and side quest fixes, and detailed updates were also made.
On the other hand, to use VRR, you must have a display that supports HDMI 2.1, and it can be used on some high-grade FreeSync and G-Sync monitors.
Horizon Forbidden West is available on PS4 and PS5.
