Ottappalam (Palakkad): A housewife was found dead inside her house under mysterious circumstances in the city. The deceased was identified as Khadeeja, 63, of Khadeeja Manzil, south of RS Road. Police said the initial conclusion was murder. Khadeeja’s sister’s daughter Sheeja and their son Yasir were taken into custody.
The body was found in the bedroom of the house around 8.30 pm on Thursday. The body was found with serious injuries to the hand. Unmarried Khadeeja and Sheeja lived together. Police said there was a dispute between the two on Thursday morning over the theft of Khadeeja’s gold jewelery. He had also reached the police station in this regard. The issue was settled after Kadeeja was informed that she had no complaint.
It was after this that Khadeeja was found dead under mysterious circumstances at night. The two were taken into police custody during the ensuing investigation. They are being questioned. The investigation is being led by Shornur DySP V Suresh and Ottapalam Police Inspector V Baburaj.
