How to claim insurance against covids, other insurances after Southeast Insurance Thai Insurance closes its business

Recently, the OIC has helped to alleviate the impact on the insured. For Southeast Insurance customers and Thai Insurance as follows:

  • Southeast Insurance There is insurance for covids. Found, paid, completed 897,242 policies.

– The insured who has been damaged or someone infected with COVID and has filed a claim for damages to apply for repayment from the Non-Life Insurance Fund The fund will be a participant in the payment of claims to the insured. as the compensation has already been approved

– The insured who has not yet filed a claim for damages Or infected with covids but haven’t made a claim yet. to file a claim for compensation from the Non-Life Insurance Fund The fund will consider the payment of compensation according to the policy conditions.

  • Thai Insurance Have insurance for covids, meet, pay, finish 279,531 policies

– COVID insurance that is still in effect to claim the remaining premiums from the Non-Life Insurance Fund The fund will return premiums for the remaining coverage period.

– Use the premiums that will be refunded to be used instead of cash for purchasing insurance from non-life insurance companies participating in the program for all types of insurance policies.

Non-Covid Insurance Policy

– Other types of policies such as car insurance fire insurance Southeast Insurance has approximately 5,717,217 insurance policies, 199,016 insurance policies.

– All insurance is transferred to other insurance companies. Currently, there are only 269 policies left that customers do not wish to use the right to transfer policies to other companies. The OIC will expedite the follow-up to inform the company of the right to allow the insured to decide whether to return the premium. or transfer the policy to a new company

Timeframe for receiving a refund

Time required to submit documents for a refund hereinafter referred to as “creditor” They are divided into 2 groups as follows:

– Creditors under insurance contracts An application for debt repayment must be submitted within 60 days from the date of the Fund. set in the announcement The fund will bring collateral. and the insurance reserves of the company placed with the Registrar to be paid to undisputed creditors and will use the money of the fund to pay the shortfall Total not more than one million baht per person

– Other creditors who are not creditors under the insurance contract An application for debt repayment must be submitted within 60 days from the date of the Fund. set in the announcement After the Company’s assets have been paid to the creditors under the insurance contract in full If there are remaining assets of the company, they will be given to other creditors. and if not enough other creditors will have to apply for repayment of the missing debt from the bankruptcy case again

Reiterating that creditors who do not submit an application for repayment within 60 days from the date of the fund’s announcement will lose the right to pay debts As a result, the insurance contract is not paid.

Documents to be prepared

Bring the original documents along with 2 copies of the documents as follows:

1. Insurance policy
2. ID card
3. Claim form, payment invoice or any other document showing the debt
4. Certificate of juristic person registration (In the case of a juristic person)

If the creditor is other than the creditor under the insurance contract, bring documents showing the creditor. An original and a copy of 1 set to support the application for debt repayment as follows:

1. Evidence of debt
2. ID card
3. Certificate of registration of juristic person (In the case of a juristic person)

In the event that the creditor is unable to file in person, a power of attorney with 30 baht stamp duty must be attached, along with a copy of the identity card of the attorney and attorney. Filed with the Non-Life Insurance Fund as the liquidator of both companies.
