Huawei Vice Chairman Meng Wanzhou released after 2 years and 9 months return to china

Meng Wanzhou, vice chairman of Chinese telecommunication equipment company Huawei, has returned to China after being released from house arrest in Canada after two years and nine months.

According to foreign media, the U.S. Department of Justice has agreed to postpone the prosecution of Meng on the condition that it “accepts allegations of violations of Iran sanctions.”

Meng was arrested in Canada in 2018 on charges of exporting computers and telecommunication equipment to Iran, which was subject to U.S. economic sanctions, and of using a Hong Kong-based company to hide them.
