Jeddah ∙ Huge increase in car accidents in Saudi Arabia in 2022 compared to 2021. Last year there were 18 lakh accidents in the country. It has increased by 28 percent. In 2021, 14 lakh traffic accidents were reported in Saudi Arabia, according to traffic safety department figures.
But the number of deaths and serious injuries in accidents fell for the third year in a row. The number of people injured in car accidents will decrease by 2.7 percent in 2022. Last year 24000 people were injured. The number of serious accidents in 2022 has also decreased by 6.8 per cent. 18,000 serious accidents were reported in 2021. But in 2022, it will drop to 17,000.
In 2021, 4,600 people died in road accidents in different parts of the country. But in 2022, it has dropped to 4,500.
