Promising prospect Lee Hyun-joo (19) graduating from Pohang Steel High School headed to Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich announced on the club’s website on the 14th (local time) that “Lee Hyun-joo was signed on loan for one year. This contract includes a full transfer option.”
Lee Hyeon-joo is an attacking midfielder who played at Pohang Steel Middle School and Pohang Steel High School under the Pohang Steelers. In October of last year, he was selected by Pohang from the K-League club’s 2022 season priority selection. He was expected to go to university, but he boarded a plane to Germany with a love call from Bayern Munich, a prestigious German Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich joined Lee Hyun-joo into the second team. Bayern Munich’s 2nd team is a member of the German 4th division.

Bayern Munich also signed Jung Woo-young (23, Freiburg) from Incheon United Youth Daegeon High in 2017. Jung Woo-young also started with the 2nd team and moved up to the 1st team, and moved to Freiburg in 2019, scoring 4 goals this season.
