Hyundai’s ‘Galloper Edition’ of Santa Fe Turns Heads in Santa Fe Community

Santa Fe’s ‘Galoper Edition’ Gains Attention in Community

[오토트리뷴=최현진 기자] People are intrigued by Hyundai Motor Company’s latest offering, the Santa Fe Galloper Edition.

Even before its release, the Santa Fe’s linear design, which is a departure from its previous generation, has garnered attention. The authentic SUV styling reminiscent of Hyundai Motor Company’s first Galloper SUV from the 1990s has captivated enthusiasts. The simultaneous unveiling of the XRT concept has further fueled anticipation for the release of off-road packages and accessories.

The domestic automobile community “Autospynet” has recently shared a preview that has caught the attention of many. Based on the Santa Fe XRT concept, Hyundai Motor Company incorporated Galloper components, giving birth to the Santa Fe Galloper Edition.

Design elements from the Galloper 2, such as the two-tone color scheme of dark green and light brown, as well as the “TURBO WAGON” lettering below the third-row window from an earlier Galloper model, have been incorporated into the Santa Fe Galloper Edition. Furthermore, the front and rear bumpers have been reimagined to enhance entry and exit angles, while XRT-specific black wheels and all-terrain off-road tires emphasize ruggedness.

XRT is an exclusive off-road package for Hyundai Motor Company’s SUV models in the North American market. The Tucson, Santa Fe, and Palisade models each have their own version, boasting a matte black design, bespoke wheels, skid plates, and roof racks. The Santa Fe XRT concept provides a glimpse into the upcoming North American release of the new Santa Fe XRT.

While it may be challenging to get hold of the Tucson and Palisade XRT editions in Korea, it seems the Santa Fe XRT will face similar limitations in the domestic market. However, Hyundai Motor Company has announced plans to introduce a range of specialized outdoor and off-road accessories.

An industry insider suggested that releasing the Santa Fe as a Galloper edition could prove popular among different age groups, just as pickup trucks and off-road vehicles with various editions are successful in North America. While operating it as a separate model may be challenging, introducing it as a special trim could be a more feasible option.

In South Korea, the newly released Santa Fe is available in two variants – a 2.5-liter gasoline turbo model and a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid model. The 2.5-liter gasoline turbo hybrid model is already on the market with prices starting at 35.46 million won. The 1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid will be released after completing eco-friendly vehicle certification.
