[스포츠서울 | 이용수기자] The current status of comedian Jang Jae-young, who made his name as ‘Kobongi’ in public comedy, was reported.
On the YouTube channel ‘Recent Olympics’, which was released on the 12th, I visited Jae-young Jang, a former member of SBS ‘Laughing People’.
Jang Jae-young once gained popularity in the ‘Barefoot Kobon’ corner in ‘Looking for a Thing’. He said, “I insisted on doing that corner. I told Kim Neul-me, Park Bo-dre, and Son Myung-eun, ‘I want to be the main character in this’,” he recalled at the time. Jang Jae-young said, “I said there must be something symbolic. Recalling the peak of popularity, Jang Jae-young said, “At that time (‘Looking for You’)’s ratings were 20%. It was a time when I was going up a bit after pressing ‘GagCon (Gag Concert),’ and I did a lot of corners at that time.”
However, Jang Jae-young disappeared from the show at some point. He said, “It’s the biggest mistake in my life,” and “I wanted to get the position of CEO by investing properly in thinking about how long I can gag and when I can broadcast.” He continued, “At that time, I pretended to be crazy and opened a 100-pyeong steakhouse in the middle of Gangnam. My monthly rent was 10 million won, but that didn’t go well. It lasted a year and then it was all over. And I was scammed a lot.”
Jang Jae-young had a business with her colleague Kim Neul-me. He said, “I made the stalls very large. Its name was ‘Neulmerang Kobong’. He said that if an investor made it into a chain, it would cost us some money. They said they were invested, but the amount itself was completely different. I didn’t know I got that much money. I took it all by myself, and (Kim) Neulme hyung didn’t get any and suffered for about 6 months. That was the worst of my life,” he recalled.
Jang Jae-young also organized income from a period that did not go well from the time he succeeded. He said, “I don’t make much money from broadcasting, but I usually make money from events. I once signed a contract for 5 night DJ events at the same time. Then my income is 40-50 million won a month, and there were times when I made up to 100 million won by shooting advertisements for telecommunication companies. Later, when I quit broadcasting and my business failed, my monthly income was about 400,000 won. “My mother gave me pocket money,” he said.
Finally, Jang Jae-young shared his recent status. He said, “Let’s take a break and do something related to broadcasting. I am serving as a director of the MCN company to which YouTubers and celebrities belong.” He continued, “I wasn’t Kobon before, but I think I’m somewhere in the middle.” “I bought a house in a shopping mall. became the owner of the building. Is proud. I think it went well thanks to my wise wife.”
