It has been reported that while Ansan, a player from the Korean women’s archery team, was attacked as a “radical feminist” for having a short haircut, LG Twins cheerleader Ha Ji-won suffered the same controversy.

Former Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong, the presidential contender for the People’s Power, shared the story of Ha Ji-won, which was posted on Facebook by Lee Han-sang, a Korea University professor, on the 21st. It is known that Ha Ji-won was attacked by malicious comments from some male netizens last month for having a short haircut.

According to a comment released by Ha Ji-won, a male netizen sarcastically said, “You’re a feminist, but it must be hard to dance in front of a hannam (a word that demeans Korean men).”

In the end, Ha Ji-won posted on Instagram, “I have nothing to do with Femi. My hair was damaged due to frequent dyeing, and I only tried it during a hiatus from a sports game that I wanted to try before the gender conflict deepened.” Regarding the allegation that he used the term ‘Herberhuber’ and posted a feminist-related book, he said, “I wrote it without knowing whether it was a word that meant hatred or condemnation.” .

He said, “I did not realize that what I did could lead to misunderstanding for someone. Rather, I hate feminists who promote gender conflict.”

Regarding the ‘feminist attack’ directed at Ha Ji-won, Professor Lee Han-sang said, “I don’t know why you’re meddling whether you shave your hair or dye your hair blonde. Do it in moderation.” He said, “What’s the difference between this and the radical Muslims who say that if you don’t use the women’s hijab, chador, burqa, or niqab, they will shoot you? Instead of flirting in Seoul, go to Afghanistan and become the Taliban.”

Meanwhile, Ansan was embroiled in feminist controversies over her short haircut, her past social networking service (SNS) remarks, and wearing the Sewol Ferry badge. Afterwards, Justice Party lawmaker Ryu Ho-jeong and actress Ku Hye-sun posted their own short-cut photos on social media to express their support to Ansan player.
