Private meetings are limited to 6 people in the metropolitan area and 8 people in non-metropolitan areas. In particular, we decided to expand the quarantine pass. This leaves less places for unvaccinated people to go. We have compiled information related to the quarantine pass.

Q. How long is the quarantine pass implementation period?
It will be in effect for 4 weeks from today to January 2nd of next year. In order to minimize confusion in the field, we will give you a training period of one week. Accordingly, if you violate the quarantine pass, you will have to pay a fine for negligence from the 13th. There is no guidance period and the limit on the number of people in private meetings is effective from today.

Q. Where is the quarantine pass applied?
The number of facilities applying the quarantine pass will increase from 5 to 16. Previously, it was applied only to entertainment facilities, singing practice areas, indoor sports facilities, and bathhouses, but from next week, it will be applied to most multi-use facilities such as restaurants, cafes, academies, movie theaters, reading rooms, PC rooms, library sports fields, museums, and art galleries.

There are 14 types of facilities that do not apply the quarantine pass. Wedding halls and funeral halls, amusement parks, arcades, shops, marts, department stores, outdoor sports fields, outdoor sports facilities, lodging facilities, kids cafes, first birthday parties, exhibitions and fairs, hairdressing and beauty industry, international conferences and academic events, door-to-door sales promotion hall, Religious facilities, etc.

As mentioned earlier, exceptions are made for up to one unvaccinated person within the scope of private gatherings. Accordingly, up to one person in the group is allowed to enter even those who are not vaccinated. For example, in the metropolitan area, 5 inoculated persons and 1 unvaccinated, and in non-metropolitan areas, 7 vaccinated persons and 1 unvaccinated person are recognized.

Q. Do teenagers need a quarantine pass?
Youth will also apply the quarantine pass from February 1 next year. It is a decision to contain the youth epidemic. The age of exception for quarantine pass will be lowered from the current 18 years old to 11 years old. Adolescents aged 12 to 18 years of age must also complete vaccination or have a negative PCR test to be able to enter academies or PC rooms. Children under the age of 11 are excluded from the quarantine pass.

Teens aged 12 to 18 can use restaurants and cafes without a quarantine pass until February 1 of next year. However, starting in February, vaccinations must be completed or the PCR test must be negative. Therefore, for a family of four with two children aged 12-18, three of them must present a quarantine pass to enter the restaurant.

Food courts in multi-use facilities such as department stores and large marts are also classified as restaurants, so the quarantine pass is applied.

A meeting is a private meeting. When meeting at a facility where the quarantine pass applies, only those who have been vaccinated or have tested negative can use it.

Q. What about first birthday parties, weddings, and funerals?
First birthday parties, weddings, and funerals are not covered by the quarantine pass. It is classified as an ‘event’ and can gather up to 99 people regardless of whether or not they are vaccinated. Up to 499 people if all attendees have been vaccinated. As before, 49 unvaccinated and 201 vaccinated people can be added, and up to 250 people can gather.

Q. Is the quarantine pass valid?
The validity period of the quarantine pass is 6 months. It will take effect from the 20th. The quarantine pass is renewed only when additional vaccinations are received within 6 months of completion of vaccination. The booster shot is recognized as a quarantine pass from the day of inoculation.
