“I was shocked to be dragged out in handcuffs”… EPL player arrested for sexual assault

A footballer of the English Premier League (EPL) Brighton & Hove Albion has been arrested on charges of sexual assault.

On the 6th (local time), the BBC and The Guardian reported that a soccer player in his 20s playing for Brighton was arrested by the police. In addition, a man in his 40s who was with the player is also being investigated by the police.

Sussex police said they had arrested two men after a woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted at a location in Brighton. he explained. It added that women who allege sexual assault are receiving professional support.

“We are aware that one of the players is responding to a criminal investigation by the police,” the club said in a statement.

One of the local media outlets, The Sun, pointed to a specific player and said, “People were shocked to see him being dragged out in handcuffs outside a club.”
