During the screening of a movie at the IMAX theater at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul, an audience turned on the lights of the entire theater, and angry audiences protested.

On the 26th, on the online community Efem Korea, a post titled ‘Today’s ‘Dune’ Yong-A-Mac Gwank Experience Story’ was posted. ‘Gunk’ refers to an act where the audience does not observe the viewing etiquette and interferes with the viewing of others.

According to the author, the movie ‘Dune’ was screened at the IMAX hall of CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall from 2:40 to 5:25 pm on the same day.

The problem occurred about 90 minutes after the movie started. At the entrance, a man turned on his cell phone’s flashlight and fumbled at the door, and in the process, the light reflected off the screen and the audience began to gossip.

This situation lasted for about 1 or 2 minutes, then all the lights in the theater suddenly turned on, and it is said that the audience could not watch an important scene in the context of the movie for about 2 minutes without knowing English.

After the movie was over, the audience protested to the cinema staff as a group, and it is known that the staff explained, “The old man wanted to go to the bathroom, but he couldn’t open the locked door, so it seems that the light at the entrance was turned on.”

Some audiences demanded compensation for ruining the movie, but the movie theater said it was difficult to get a refund. The price of a ticket for the daytime on weekdays at the IMAX Pavilion is 18,000 won.

Netizens who saw this showed reactions to the post, such as “It’s the greatest government ever”, “I don’t think the cinema should compensate for that”, “Isn’t there such a thing as a blacklist?”
