Team India’s dynamic opener Prithvi Shah recently spoke about his return to the national team for the three-match T20I home series against New Zealand. In a video shared by the BCCI on their Twitter account on Friday, he admitted that he missed being in Team India for a long time. He also said that after the team’s announcement, his phone finally hung up due to constant phone calls.

Shah said at first he didn’t know why so many people tried to reach him late at night. The 23-year-old added that he was also a little scared but he later realized that it was because he was selected for the T20I series.

Prithvi Shah talked about his comeback.

“I haven’t been part of the team for a long time. But I’m glad to be back., Around 10:30 PM the phone kept ringing. I saw many calls and messages. My phone hung up. “I was wondering what really happened.”

Shah last played for Team India in July 2021. The right-handed batsman has shown good form in the current Ranji Trophy season and has been rewarded by the national selectors.

He has scored 595 runs from 10 innings at an average of 59.90 and is currently the second highest run-getter for Mumbai this season. Earlier this month, Shah made headlines with his 370 against Assam.
