I will come back to the Indian team. Varun Chakraborty with hope

Kolkata Knight Riders’ mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty has been selected for the T20 World Cup following his impressive performances in the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Indian Premier League. But Varun could not take a single wicket in the three matches played against Pakistan, New Zealand and Scotland. Varun Chakraborty got a chance after beating the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal.

After the World Cup, he was not considered for the Indian team again, but the Tamil Nadu star has not given up the hope of playing for India. Varun has played 42 T20s in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings, but has never played a single domestic T20 match for his state team Tamil Nadu.

Syed Mushtaq Ali has selected Varun Chakraborty for games. Looking forward to making the most of it to come back to the Indian team.

“The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a very important platform for me. I am confident that I will be able to make it to the Indian team again. Because I’ve worked hard. God willing, I’ll see if I get another chance. I know SMAT will play an important role in the next IPL as well. If I do well in these two tournaments, I will get another chance,” said Varun Chakraborty

On his plans for the coming year, he said, “You can expect a better player physically and mentally. I’m definitely looking forward to playing for my country. I will definitely come back well.” An Indian spinner added.
