The conflict between the People’s Power Representative Lee Jun-seok and the disabled group continued today.

When the Human Rights Commission said that it would look into whether there were any problems with President Lee Jun-seok’s criticisms towards the disabled group, CEO Lee set up a day in response, saying, “Investigate quickly.”

CEO Lee and Jeon Jang-yeon are promoting an open discussion next week.

The National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities said that after the conflict with People’s Power Representative Lee Jun-seok had increased, the human rights committee visited the protest site and demanded a countermeasure.

“We’ll see if the impact of Lee Jun-seok’s remarks on society afterward is hate or discrimination.”

Then, CEO Lee responded, “I can’t say that the Human Rights Commission hates people with disabilities, so I’m going to reveal the social impact.”

Representative Lee rejected the request for an apology from Jeon Jang-yeon, saying, ‘I was only taking issue with the protest method’, and instead met with groups of people with disabilities who had different positions with the Jeon Jang-yeon on policies such as deinstitutionalization.

“We are somewhat concerned about the current reality that some groups think that the problem related to the disabled is to represent the disabled…”

The Jeonjangyeon side criticized it, saying, “It is hopeless,” saying, “CEO Lee started a new division as the issue of the right to move was pushed back, and incites conflicts between people with disabilities.”

While the war of words between the two sides continued, CEO Lee Jun-seok announced that he would promote an open discussion with CEO Park Kyung-seok and Jeon Jang-yeon next week.
