The decision was taken to raise the shutters of the Idukki dam at 11 am tomorrow due to strong water flow. One shutter will be raised 100 cm and two shutters will be raised 50 cm each. At 7 am, the water level will reach the upper rule curve of 2398.86 feet. As of now, the water level will reach the upper rule curve at 7 am. The District Collector directed to make adequate preparations. A red alert may be declared at Idukki Dam at 6 pm today. The district administration has issued a vigilance order to the residents near the Idukki dam. Caution is advised in all areas where water flows from Idukki.
