Analysts say that if China attacks Taiwan, the United States, China, Taiwan, and Japan will all suffer heavy losses.
According to CNN on the 9th local time, the Center for Strategic and International Studies of the United States, CSIS, assumed that China would attack Taiwan in 2026 and conducted 24 simulations to obtain these results.
CSIS predicted that the Chinese invasion would fail, but said that “all parties involved would pay huge costs.”
“The United States and Japan could lose dozens of ships, hundreds of fighter jets and thousands of troops, and these losses could damage America’s international standing for years to come,” the report said.
CSIS also predicted that “China’s navy would be destroyed and the core of the amphibious force destroyed” and that “tens of thousands of soldiers would become prisoners of war.”
The damage to the Chinese troops was estimated at 10,000, and the damage to the Taiwanese army was expected to be great.
“The United States will pay the price of victory with longer suffering than a ‘defeated’ China,” CSIS added, adding that “victory is not everything.”
