If it’s just the police, it will be a case; Legal advice that crime branch is enough – Arya Rajendran letter case | Malayalam News, Kerala News | Manorama Online

Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Following legal advice, it has been decided that there is no need for a police investigation into the corporation’s dispute letter and a crime branch investigation is sufficient. There are reports that Mayor Arya Rajendran, who is adamant that he did not prepare the letter, also stopped the party from making a direct complaint to the police. Some fear such an investigation could lead to more backdoor hiring controversy. Because, if the mayor files a complaint in the police station, an FIR should be filed. With that the case will be registered. For now, the crime branch has only been instructed to ‘investigate and report’.

Legal experts have pointed out that if a case is filed, the suspects will have to be questioned and the computer in the mayor’s office and the phone of those who circulated the letter will have to be sent for examination forensic. The corporation will also have to explain the temporary appointment practices when it comes to court. The crime branch decided to investigate after consulting DGP Anil Kant.
