“If you use it right, there will be no scars”… ‘Acne patches’ are the choice for every situation

It is thought that acne is limited to teenagers, but in fact, even as an adult, pimples appear immediately when stress or hormonal changes occur. Adult acne is easy to leave scars or marks because there are many inflammatory lesions and the skin’s ability to regenerate after adulthood declines. At this time, if you use the acne patch correctly, you can prevent scarring.

Pharmacist Oh Jeong-seok said, “When using an acne patch, you should carefully check what ingredients are in it. Commercially available acne patches can be used for two purposes: before and after squeezing acne.”

Before pressing, ‘salicylic acid’ and ‘tea tree oil’
Pharmacist Oh Jeong-seok recommended a patch containing salicylic acid or tea tree oil before squeezing the pimple. When salicylic acid removes dead skin cells that clog pores, you can see the effect of expelling sebum and waste from acne without scarring. After that, tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties to prevent the spread of acne bacteria.

Patches used before squeezing pimples should adhere to the specified use time. This is because salicylic acid can damage the skin if left on for a long time.

After pressing, ‘hydrocolloid’
Pharmacist Oh said, “After squeezing acne, you should use a hydrocolloid wet patch.” The hydrocolloid wet patch absorbs toxins that are spread under the skin and protects the wound from UV rays and bacteria. It also creates a moist environment so that new flesh grows without scarring.

However, it is important to use a patch after squeezing the pimple completely. If the patch is applied while the inflammation is still present in the skin, a moist environment is created, which helps acne bacteria to multiply easily. Acne is an anaerobic bacterium that hates air, so if the pimple is not completely extruded, it is better to expose it to air rather than applying a patch.

When the patch cannot be used, ‘ibuprofenpiconol’ and ‘isopropylmethylmenol’
Unlike mild acne, which is a small rise on the surface of the skin, purulent acne caused by follicular inflammation does not heal well with acne patches. If you cannot apply a patch, you can use an acne cream containing ibuprofenpiconol and isopropylmethylmenol, which can be bought in pharmacies as an external medicine for external use. Ibuprofen piconol is effective in treating inflammatory acne by blocking the inflammatory reaction caused by acne bacteria. The isopropylmethylmenol component has an antibacterial action and prevents the spread of acne bacteria.

Pharmacist Oh Jeong-seok explained how to use the acne patch, saying, “You need to apply the acne patch after washing your face without using toner or toner.
