‘I’m thinking of Manchester United, not Ronnie’; Fans chant against Ronaldo

London: Fans chanted words against former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo during the match. Manchester United FC fans mocked Ronaldo during the EFL Cup pre-quarter match known as the Carabao. Fans used to call Ronaldo ‘Ronnie’. The words were that even if Ronaldo leaves, nothing will happen to the club.

During the United-Burnley match at Old Trafford, United’s home ground, chants were raised against Ronaldo who left the club. ‘I don’t think about Ronnie because Ronnie doesn’t think about me. All I think about is ‘Manchester United’ were the words of the fans. Ronaldo left the club after making controversial comments that angered the fans.

But fans came forward to express their support for Ronaldo at the chanting event. The fans responded by saying that Ronaldo was one of United’s best ever players and that he had won us the Champions League. “As a United fan I’m ashamed at the moment. I’d say Ronaldo’s ‘real home’ is Manchester United rather than Madrid. I was wrong. Madrid fans forgive me,’ another fan wrote on social media.

In the interview, Ronaldo criticized United and the coaches. The player has openly said that he has no respect for United coach Eric Tenhaag. Not only the coach but two or three other people are trying to remove him from the team. The player left the club with serious allegations that some people did not like him to stay here. At the same time, Spanish sports media Marza reported that Ronaldo was preparing to sign a contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nasser. Ronaldo will reportedly sign a seven-year contract with Al Nasr.
