Imran Khan ‘World Beggar’ – Jamaat-e-Islami

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq has called Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan a ‘global beggar’. Haq was speaking at a pre-election rally in Lahore. Haq was referring to Pakistan’s controversial agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He said there was no room for plus or minus in politics in the country, adding that the only solution to all the country’s problems plagued by the financial crisis was for the prime minister to step down. Last week, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), described Imran Khan as “the crisis of this century”. He said the Imran government was a complete failure in all respects. He added that the government’s agreement with the IMF would have devastating consequences for the country.

Opposition parties in Pakistan have strongly opposed the passage of the Finance Bill and the State Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill to meet the conditions set by the International Monetary Fund.
