Six-month-old Imran, who was being treated for spinal muscular atrophy, has died. Imran left without waiting for the Rs 18 crore medicine needed for treatment. He died while undergoing treatment at the Kozhikode Maternal and Child Care Center. 16 crore has already been raised for Imran’s treatment. Imran is the son of Arif and Ramisa Tasni of Perinthalmanna Walampur. The death occurred around 11.30 pm.
For the past three months, Imran has been on a ventilator at the Maternal and Child Care Center at Kozhikode Medical College. The family was hoping to bring the baby Imran back to life through treatment. The first child of Arif and Ramisa also died of a similar disease. Imran was diagnosed with the disease about 30 days after his birth.
Mohammad, a native of Kannur, who was suffering from a rare disease like Imran, was given Rs 18 crore for treatment.
