With double-digit confirmed cases in Beijing every day, there is a hoarding fear of lockdown.

In front of a supermarket in Beijing.

It is full of people who come to the market.

There was even a queue to enter.

This is the supermarket that I use often.

Although there is not a shortage of goods, you can see that they put a lot of items into baskets, mainly fresh foods such as vegetables and meat.

“I’ve never bought so many things before. I buy things in advance because I’m afraid the same thing will happen to me while watching Sang-Gang’s dire situation.”

Most of the supermarkets and markets in Beijing were filled with people shopping for daily necessities all day long.

Some supermarkets have extended their business hours.

The phenomenon of hoarding began in earnest when news of an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Beijing spread over the past three days.

However, during this period, only 70 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Beijing.

It’s not a huge number, but fear has spread since I’ve already heard of the pain caused by the Shanghai blockade.

“I started buying because I saw other people buying, not anything else.”

In fact, the city of Beijing has entered into lockdown measures that prohibit going out in an area 3 km wide and 2.5 km long centered on the place where the confirmed person came out.

Following Shanghai, the Chinese stock market plunged on fears of a lockdown in the capital, Beijing, and the yuan fell to its lowest level in a year.
