An American influencer has been criticized for posting a photo taken in front of a coffin where his deceased father is lying on social media.

According to foreign media such as the New York Post on the 28th (local time), Jane Rivera (20), who lives in Miami, Florida, took a so-called ‘certification shot’ at her father’s funeral and posted it on SNS.

According to the published photo, Rivera is wearing a black dress with her shoulders exposed. Rivera wrote, “Father, rest in peace” along with several photos. His father was known as a veteran.

Netizens who saw the photos were outraged. Taking pictures in front of the coffin at his father’s funeral is a reaction that crossed the line.

Netizens showed reactions such as “It’s rude at a funeral,” “Is it possible to dress like that?”, “I’m not careful,” and “The picture and the text don’t match.”

Rivera responded to the accusation, saying, “I understand the negative reaction, but I would have understood it if my father were alive.”

“Everyone says goodbye to the ones they love in their own way. Some will let them go in the traditional way, but I’m just photographing my father when he was alive,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rivera’s Instagram account is currently blocked.
