In Oman, the expatriate population fell to 37 percent

Muscat: Oman’s foreign population declines by 5% in two years The figures for the last two years have been released by the National Statistics Center.

As of September 4, Oman had a population of 44.16 million. Of this, 16.37 lakh are foreigners. As of April 22, 2017, the foreign population was 46 percent of the total population. The Kovid epidemic led to the exodus of foreigners. In the two weeks from August 21 to September 4, 17,912 expatriates left Oman, according to the National Statistics Office. According to the latest figures, 11.02 lakh expatriates are employed in the private sector and 39,306 in the government sector.

As of the end of August 2021, there were 2.41 million people in Oman, including the families of migrant workers. Muscat Governorate has the highest number of foreign workers. About 5.28 lakh people live here. North Al Batina Governorate is second and Dhofar is third in the expat population.
