In Saudi Arabia, permits are mandatory for trucks to enter ports

Jeddah: Saudi Arabia will require a permit for trucks to enter ports from tomorrow. In the first phase, the project will be implemented at the port of Jeddah. Appointments can be made through the Fasah online platform.

The project is being implemented in collaboration with the General Ports Authority. The new reform is part of a plan to enhance the position of the Jeddah Islamic Port as a major commercial hub and to enhance the quality of service. The new system aims to increase the operational capacity of the port with the help of state-of-the-art technology, reduce the waiting time for trucks, reduce traffic congestion around the port area and keep the port operational 24 hours a day. Only trucks licensed through the Ports Authority’s online platform will be allowed entry.
