In the last six months, Union Cope has bought 650 tonnes of fish

Dubai: Union Coop, the UAE’s largest consumer cooperative, bought 650 tonnes of fish in the first six months of this year. The fish was sold through 17 fish sections in stores across Dubai. Officials said that all the fish marketing divisions of Union Cope are fully operational, including the recently opened branches which started this year. According to Union Cope, more fish are being imported, both local and imported, based on customer feedback and demand.

Union Coop Fish Category Trade Department Manager Yacoub Al Balushi said 650 tonnes of fish and other seafood items had been sold in the past six months. About 3.5 tonnes of fish is sold daily.

Union Cope stores, which operate in all major locations in Dubai, are a favorite destination for family shopping. He said that Union Coop provides all kinds of fresh meat, fish, vegetables and fruits at special prices in special categories to cater to the needs of both indigenous and expatriate consumers. This led to more customers reaching Union Cop in the first half of 2021. In addition, all branches of Union Coop have specialized sections for cooking and grilling fish to suit the tastes of seafood lovers.

He said the fish sections at Union Coop’s 17 branches are geared towards customer wishes and requests. UnionCop’s work is not limited to delivering high quality products to customers. It also provides customers with additional services such as cutting, cleaning and packaging.

He added that the fish sections at all the branches offer grilled and fried fish under the guidance of experienced chefs to suit a wide variety of tastes. It charges a nominal rate per kilogram. The grilling department has some of the best equipment available in the world. Ensures cleanliness and quality and ensures that high quality fish, vegetables and other ingredients are used. UnionCop also offers customers the best taste experience by setting up world-class security systems.

He added that the Fisheries Department at Union Cope has more than 100 species of fish and other marine products such as fresh shellfish and mollusks. UAE, Oman, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, China, Iran, Philippines, USA, Canada, Chile, Norway, Turkey, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland. Fish products from 26 countries, including Denmark, Egypt, Tunisia, Madagascar, Uganda, Tanzania and New Zealand, are available at Union Coop stores.

He said Union Cope offers a wide range of offers for those who like a variety of tastes. Throughout the year, the festivals raise awareness through brochures on the nutritional value of fish and other seafood, as well as the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids.
