Kindergartens and elementary, middle and high schools in Incheon will partially return to school after the second semester begins, even in the fourth stage of social distancing.

The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 11th the academic operation plan for the second semester containing these contents.

From the 3rd and 4th week of this month, when the second semester starts, to the 3rd of next month, even in the 4th stage of social distancing, only kindergartens, elementary school 1st and 2nd graders, high school 3rd graders, and special schools will partially attend school.

Starting from the 6th of next month, the new school density standard will be applied and all schools will go to school in the 3rd stage of distancing.

Even if social distancing is maintained at level 4, up to two-thirds of all students at each school level can attend school.

Small schools with less than 400 students, book/remote schools, and vocational high schools go to school every day regardless of the level of social distancing.

The city office of education plans to operate a class concentration period that avoids unnecessary business trips, training, and official documents so that frontline teachers can focus on classes and life guidance until the end of September after school starts.

In addition, the number of days of off-campus experiential learning, which could be used for at least 28 days, has been temporarily extended to less than 57 days per year.

An official from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education said, “Erics usually open in the fourth week of August, and middle schools and high schools start in the third week of August.”
