An explosion occurred in an underground septic tank in Jakjak-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, and part of the road collapsed. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
At 2:43pm on the 4th, an explosion occurred in an underground septic tank on a road near an apartment in Jakjak-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. No one was injured in the accident, but the surrounding roads were partially submerged and damaged.
A witness called 911, saying, “After hearing a ‘thump’, the road went down.” The fire department, which arrived at the scene, took safety measures such as controlling the surrounding area together with related organizations such as the Gyeyang-gu Office.
Also, according to YTN reports, residents of nearby apartments said they heard something ‘pop’ at the time of the explosion, and then the stench vibrated. At that time, the impact of the explosion was enough to shake the veranda window.
Meanwhile, the fire department is investigating the exact cause of the accident, believing that the pipe of the septic tank under the road burst due to a gas leak.
