CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – Water and sewer rates are going on for West Coast American Water Resident customers.
WCHS-TV in Charleston reports that the Public Service Commission has approved the rise on Friday in agreement with the company.
The PSC said in news release that the average bill for residential water customers will increase $ 6.65 per month or 14 percent. Average customer seats will increase by $ 8.33 on average or 17.5 per cent. The rates will apply February 25.
West Virginia's American Water will not be able to find another increase in the base rates before April 30, 2021.
The company operates around 166,000 water customers in 19 counties and 1,000 sewer customers in Fayette County.
