IND v NZ: Virat Kohli named India’s all-time great Test batsman

Mumbai: Former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan praises Indian captain Virat Kohli after winning the series by defeating New Zealand (IND v NZ) in the Mumbai Test. Pathan said Kohli was the best captain India has ever seen in Test cricket.

I have said this before and again, Virat Kohli is India’s all-time great Test captain. With a pass percentage of 59.09 in Tests, Virat Kohli is far ahead. Pathan tweeted that the second-ranked captain had a 45 per cent success rate, without naming MS Dhoni.

Kohli, who has led India in 66 Tests so far, has won 39. They lost by 16 points and drew by 11 points. MS Dhoni, who led India from 2008 to 2014, led India to 60 wins in 60 Tests. India have 18 defeats and 15 draws under Dhoni.

Virat Kohli is currently the third most successful Test captain in the world. Graeme Smith leads South Africa in 109 Tests with 53 wins. Smith’s pass percentage is 48.62.

Ricky Ponting, who has led Australia in 77 Tests, is second in the list. Australia have won 48 matches under Ponting. Ponting’s pass percentage is 62.33. Steve Waugh, who has led Australia to 57 wins in 57 Tests, has the highest pass percentage. Steve Waugh’s pass percentage is 71.92.
