IND vs NZ | Deepak Chahar hits six; Rohit Sharma salutes and congratulates

India captain Rohit Sharma salutes Deepak Chahar for hitting a six off Adam Milne in the final over of the third T20I against New Zealand. Deepak Chahar’s 21 not out off eight balls, including two fours and a six, helped India cross the 180 mark yesterday. Chahar hit 19 off the last over with two fours and a six.

Rohit Sharma and Ishant Kishan gave India a flying start after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. They batted in the powerplay overs and scored 69 runs from the first over. Ishant Kishan hit 29 off 21 balls with six fours while Rohit Sharma hit his second half-century of the series with 56 off 31 balls, including five fours and three sixes. But despite getting off to a good start, the Indian midfield was unable to capitalize.

Suryakumar Yadav, who came in third, was bowled out for four, while Rishabh was able to score four off six balls. Shreyas Iyer scored 25 off 20 balls while Venkatesh Iyer scored 20 off 15 balls. After their exit, Chahar teamed up with Herschelle Patel at the tail end.

Chahar won the toss and elected to field. The Indian score jumped to 184 thanks to Chahar’s firing performance. Herschelle Patel, who teamed up with Chahar, was dismissed for 18 off 11 balls.

But this is not the first time Chahar has fired a shot. Earlier in the day, Chahar’s brilliant batting helped India win the second ODI against Sri Lanka in July. He scored 69 off 82 balls to help India to victory.
