Mumbai: The ODI and T20 series (IND vs WI) against the West Indies next month may be limited to two venues instead of six, including Thiruvananthapuram (Green Field Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram). Cricinfo reports that the BCCI is planning to restrict the ODI and T20 series to Ahmedabad and Kolkata in the wake of the third wave of Kovid in the country.

As the IPL mega star auction will be held in Bangalore on February 12-13, the date of the third ODI scheduled for February 12 may be slightly changed, the report said.
The series starts with an ODI on February 6 in Ahmedabad. The series consists of three ODIs and three T20I matches. The ODIs will be played on February 9 in Jaipur and on February 12 in Kolkata. The T20 series will be played on February 15 in Cuttack, February 18 in Visakhapatnam and February 20 in Thiruvananthapuram.

States have tightened controls again in the wake of the third wave of Kovid in the country. In this situation, the BCCI is planning to reduce the number of venues to two. In Kerala, especially in the capital district, Kovid cases are on the rise again, which could lead to the loss of the venue for the final T20 match (Green Field Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram).

The West Indies team, which will arrive in Ahmedabad on February 1, will start training after completing three days of isolation and Kovid tests. The Test series against Sri Lanka after the West Indies will be played in Mohali and Bengaluru. Dharamsala will be the only venue for the T20 series.
