[ニューデリー 27日 ロイター] – Indian police said China is building up its military infrastructure in the disputed northern region of Ladakh, signaling an increase in clashes between the two militaries.

Reuters has obtained a confidential investigation report submitted by the Ladakh police to a meeting of police chiefs on April 20-22.

“Given China’s domestic situation and economic interests in the region, the People’s Liberation Army will continue to build its military infrastructure and there will be frequent skirmishes,” he said.

“An analysis of the patterns of tensions and conflicts shows that they have increased in intensity every two to three years since 2013-14,” he said.

“The PLA is building a huge infrastructure, and both sides are testing each other’s reactions, firepower, and infantry deployment time,” he said.

In Ladakh, he pointed out that the buffer zone was pushing the border into Indian territory, and that India was gradually losing ground.

At least 24 soldiers were killed in a clash between Indian and Chinese forces in Ladakh in the western Himalayas in 2020.
