India reach World Cup final with a series of innings wins after batting. Axar And Ashwin Takes 5 Apiece, India Beat England By An Innings

Ahmedabad: India won the four-match Test series in Modera by an innings victory over England. The hosts beat England by an innings and 25 runs in the fourth Test to win the series 3-1. The opponent in the final is New Zealand.

India were bowled out for 365 in reply to England’s 205 in the first innings. Rishabh Pant (101) and Washington Sunder (96 not out), who left the crease four runs for the maiden century, batted brilliantly at the crease.

After conceding a 165-run first-innings lead, the visitors could not hold their own against the spin attack. Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin were bowled out for 135 in their first innings. Both took five wickets each. Only Dan Lawrence (50), captain Joe Root (30), Oli Pope (15) and Ben Fox (13) crossed the two-mark.

In the first innings, Akshar Patel took four wickets and Ashwin three. The Man of the Series is Ashwin, who bowled brilliantly throughout the series and also excelled in batting. Rishabh Pant named Man of the Match
