Tokyo: India won its fourth gold medal in the Paralympics at Pramod. Bhagat won the gold medal by defeating Britain’s Daniel Bethel in the men’s singles (SL3) final on Saturday. Score: 21-14, 21-17.

It was India’s first medal in badminton at the Paralympics. After Manoj Sarkar of India won another bronze medal, two Indian athletes lined up on the podium. This brings India’s medal tally to 17 in Tokyo. Pramod defeated Japan’s Dae Suke Fujihara in the semifinals.

In a match that lasted 45 minutes, Bhagat won the first game in 21 minutes and the second game in 24 minutes. Avani Lekhara (shooting), Manish Narwal (shooting) and Sumit Antil (javelin throw) won gold for India in Tokyo.
