India won the second practice match as well. Harshal Patel with an all round performance

India won the warm-up match ahead of the England limited over series. Chasing the target of 150 runs set by India, Northamptonshire were all out for 139 runs. India got all out in 19.2 overs and won by 10 runs.

The Indian bowlers were excellent throughout the match and at no stage could the county team raise hopes of victory. Saif Saib was the top scorer with 33 runs. Harshal Patel bowled the player in the last over and gave India the win.

Everyone who bowled for India got a wicket. Arshadeep Singh, Josh Khan, Harshal Patel and Chahal got 2 wickets each while Prasidh Krishna and Venkatesh Iyer took one wicket each.

India lost the toss and scored 149 runs in 20 overs. While the top order disappointed, the performances of Dinesh Karthik, Venkatesh Iyer and Harshal Patel led to a better score.

Sanju Samson was out for a golden duck in the very first ball. Coming in to bowl the third over, Brandon Glover dismissed Tripathi (7) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) to take India to 3 for 8. Ishan Kishan’s resistance ended in 16 runs.

Dinesh Karthik (34 off 26 balls) and Venkatesh Iyer (20 off 22 balls) who led the match put up a good performance. Harshal Patel scored a half-century for India. Harshal Patel scored 54 runs off 36 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Avesh Khan is out for no runs. Arshadeep Singh (0) and Chahal (2) were not out.

Glover took 3 wickets for Northampton, Freddie and Nathan both and Josh Cobb took a wicket.
