Noted Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has been granted bail in a domestic violence case filed against him by his ex-wife, Hasin Jahan. The case, which dates back to 2018, had resulted in an arrest warrant being issued against Shami.

Jahan had filed a complaint alleging domestic violence and betrayal of trust by Shami and his family. Following her complaint, the police registered a case and subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued by the court. However, the Calcutta High Court had granted a stay on the warrant. Shami’s elder brother has also been granted bail in relation to the case.

The cause of the separation between Mohammad Shami and Hasin Jahan was purportedly linked to extramarital affair allegations. Their ongoing feud had even spilled over into social media platforms. Earlier this year, the court had instructed Shami to pay alimony. The verdict mandated a payment of Rs 50,000 to Jahan, as well as Rs 80,000 for their child’s expenses.
