WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. state of Indiana said on Wednesday it had taken action against Chinese video-sharing app TikTok and its companies for including content inappropriate for minors and for leaking information to China. He filed a lawsuit seeking an emergency injunction and payment of civil penalties. This is the first time a US state has sued TikTok, according to the state.

The lawsuit alleges that despite the content being sexual and drug-related, it was labeled appropriately for people over the age of 12, and that the Chinese government could access users’ personal information .Apparently, it violates state consumer protection laws.

A TikTok spokesperson declined to comment.

In the United States, Governor Hogan of Maryland banned TikTok devices and networks in state administrative agencies on the 6th. South Dakota Gov. Nome and South Carolina Gov. McMaster is taking similar steps.
